Are You Ready for Some...Mango Salsa?
A few Super Bowl Sunday cooking tips from the chef at New England BBQ in Canton.
When we at New England BBQ design a menu for a Super Bowl party, we try to take into account a variety of factors. We always try to use items that can be prepared in advance, allowing hosts to actually enjoy their own party rather than running into the kitchen (to miss either the game or the important commercials.)
We also recommend items that are specific to the teams who are playing, which for this year lends itself toward "man food": Mini steak and cheese sandwiches and blackbean and mango salsa for Steelers fans or beer-simmered brats for Packers fans.
Keeping portions small seems to allow guests to sample different items, since many will spend hours sitting in front of the TV. It also makes it much easier to pass things around, or allow guests to build their own plates. Our biggest advice (besides ordering from us) is to make sure there is variety for your guests, not everyone gets excited over the same foods, or wants to eat buffalo wings so hot that they are a dare.
