Canton Chai Center Hosts Chanukah Wonderland
Families celebrate the joy and light of Chanukah at an entertaining event sponsored by the Jewish Chai Center.
The 8th Annual Chanukah Wonderland event took place at Canton High School this weekend. Families enjoyed entertainment from magician Lon Cerel, delicious hot latkes and Sufganiyot donuts flown in from Israel, as well as various arts and crafts stations for children. along with a moon bounce.
Rivka Horowitz, Director of the Canton Chai Center, has organized the event for the past eight years since it's inception.
"We had a great turnout this year, a lot of people," Horowitz said "Chanukah is a time to celebrate the victory of light over darkness and to take part in acts of goodness."
Indeed, there was a lot of light as Rabbi Mendy Horowitz, Rivka's husband, later led everyone in the lighting of the menorah. Canton's own Fire Chief, Charles Doody, also made a special appearance to help light the menorah.
