Scott Brown (R), Elizabeth Warren (D): U.S. Senate
Scott Brown has represented Massachusetts in the U.S. Senate since a January 2010 special election held to fill the U.S. Senate seat vacated by the late Ted Kennedy. Brown defeated state Attorney General Martha Coakley with 1,168,107 votes, or 51.9 percent, to her 1,058,682 votes, or 47.1 percent.
Rep. Stephen Lynch (D), Joseph Selvaggi (R): 8th Congressional District
Joseph Selvaggi will challenge Rep. Stephen Lynch after defeating Republican opponent Matt Temperley in a tight 8th Congressional race in this year's State Primary. Massachusetts lost a Congressional seat after the 2010 U.S. Census results showed a population shift within the state. After Jan. 1, 2013, there will no longer be a 10th Congressional District. The 9th District, where Canton now sits, will become part of the 8th District. Basically, the 8th District is the old 9th, and you can't get more New England than that description.
State Senate/Rep. Races
Canton's State Rep., William C. Galvin, and State Senator Brian A. Joyce will seek re-election on Tuesday in their own respective races.

Added Naddaff, "It's about time we had a woman in the Senate."
Holding a sign for Scott Brown, voter Joyce Kessler said, "Scott Brown to me is like Mr. Smith goes to Washington. I believe that Brown has a long career in politics."

I voted at the Luce School this morning at 7:30am. There were about 50 or 60 people in the P - Z line and NOBODY in the line for A - O. What was that all about? Maybe for the next election someone should look at the street lists again and divide the alphabet into three or more sections to keep the lines moving more rapidly. Maybe it was just a fluke but it did seem way off kilter. Luckily everyone was in a good mood and talking with each other so it made the time pass quickly. Thanks to all the Poll Volunteers!

I think the best time to vote would be between 3 and 4 PM! This seems like the biggest election in years! With the state of economy, retirement, education and middle class tax issues everyone is concerned about our future. Assisted Suicide and medical marijuana are other important issues!!

I'd like to say congratulations, and thank you, to the folks who ran the polling station at the high school (CHS) today. I was there around 3 and, while it was full, I was right in and back out. My wife went at 5:30, and she had the same experience. After hearing horror stories from other polling areas (my mom waited in line for 2+ hours in RI) I think that's a job well done. Thanks to the volunteers!

Hi Mary Jane - only results from Precinct 1 were available as of late last night. The post was updated this morning with the full town results. I just included a link to the Town's Website which includes results broken down by precinct. Thanks for asking - hope that helps!
