The Canton High girls' volleyball perfect season and run in the Division 2 tournament, ending with a 3-0 loss to Melrose in the state semifinals Tuesday night at Billerica High School.

With the loss, the Bulldogs finished their season with a 25-1 record. Melrose will now move on to play Longmeadow in the state final Saturday at Algonquin High at 3 p.m.

The Bulldogs dropped 25-16, 25-21, 25-18 decisions to Melrose. Julia Murphy had 15 kills in the loss.
