Former Canton resident John S. Higgins, 73, of East Taunton passed away at the Kindred Transitional Care in East Bridgewater Friday, Sept. 28, according to CurrentObituary.com.

Born and raised in Tennessee, Higgins was a Veteran of the United States Air Force. He has lived in Taunton since 1997 and has previously lived in Stoughton and Canton.

Higgins worked for Lois Shoe in South Boston for many years before retiring. Beloved husband of Bonnie G. (Titus). Father of John Higgins and his wife Lori of Taunton, Richard Higgins of Brockton and James Higgins and his wife Sandy of Brockton and the late Michael Higgins. Also survived by eight grandchildren. He was predeceased by two grandchildren Richard and Ashley Higgins.

Visiting hours at the Dockray & Thomas Funeral Home in Canton Wednesday from 9 to 11 a.m. A visitation will be followed by a graveside service at the Canton Corner Cemetery at 11:15.
