Assault and battery charge dismissed
Archie Lee, 59, of 403 Washington Ave., Chelsea, had a charge of assault and battery dismissed in Stoughton District Court, after the case had been continued without a guilty finding to Feb. 27, 2012. The charge stemmed from a Oct. 17, 2010 incident in Canton after Lee allegedly struck a person in the eye with the back of his hand during an argument while driving on Route 95.
Prevailing wage case continued for hearing
Ron Jarvis, 49, of 40 Cheever St., Milton, had eight counts of failure to pay the prevailing wage on public works project continued to March 28 for a hearing in Stoughton District Court. The case was originally continued without a finding of guilty to Jan. 4, 2013. The charges stem from Feb. 24, 2006, Nov. 18, 2006, Dec. 23, 2006, and Feb. 10, 2007 incidents in Canton. Police allege Jarvis, as the owner of Continental Contractors Inc., failed to pay the prevailing wage to workers for several public works projects in Massachusetts.
Alleged embezzler back in court in April
Michelle E. Beckman, 43, of 35 Pattison St., Apt. 1F, Abington, had a charge of larceny over $250 by single scheme continued to April 17 for a hearing in Stoughton District Court. The charge stems from a Sept. 21, 2011 incident in Canton. State financial crimes officers allege in a formal complaint that Beckman embezzled $28,000 through her employer, but a second attempt to embezzle $38,000 was stopped. When officers confronted Beckman with the evidence, she provided a written statement admitting to the offense, according to the police incident report.
