Escape to Foley's Backstreet Grille

Owned by a Canton family, Foley's Backstreet Grille has great food at even better prices for the portion.

Each week Canton Patch will tell you about one great idea to give you a much deserved break and escape from it all by visiting local hotspots and area events. Each Great Escape feature is meant to make your life a little easier, and maybe even a bit more exciting and fun by discovering new places and things to do locally.

Just past the Canton border on Pearl Street in Stoughton is a great family owned and family run restaurant – .

With lifelong Canton resident, Dave Foley at the helm, the restaurant has become a popular spot in a short amount of time. If you consider the many failed dining establishments that had previously occupied the space before arrived, you can be confident that Foley’s is doing something right.

With a casual and comfortable environment for a date night, dinner with friends or family, or drinks at the bar, Foley’s Backstreet Grille offers a nice array of options for dinner.

The portions are generous, well priced and the food is consistently tasty. It seems most patrons are regulars, which is always a good sign in my book if people come back again and again.

Since Foley’s is not a chain restaurant, the staff prides themselves on being able to customize your order and even venturing beyond the menu for a special meal request to suit their customers.

In addition to the delicious homemade potato chips they serve gratis once you are seated, the choices abound for your main course. There is the popular teriyaki marinated steak tips, Seafood Leah (marinated seafood and vegetables, roasted and served on a bed of rice), chicken parmigiana, and veal marsala, as well as many sandwiches, salads, soups and appetizers.

But perhaps the best part is that Foley’s Backstreet Grille wants to celebrate your birthday with you. If you sign up for their birthday club, you will get a free meal for your birthday that doesn’t have to be used that day. That alone is worth the visit, so make your escape soon.
