Five Things You Need to Know Today: July 4, 2012

Happy Fourth of July!

 

1. 9:30 am - 38th Annual Fourth of July Road Race. Registration begins at 8:30 am, start and finish at the Canton Town Club, 5 mile race and a 2 mile fun run for children. $10.00 and $5.00 respectively. Sponsored by the: Canton Department of Recreation.

2. There is no swimming instruction at the Town Pool on Bolivar Street today. Swim instruction continues tomorrow, July 5, at 11:00 am.

3. The Canton Council on Aging will be closed today and reopen tomorrow morning. Check their new July newsletter for upcoming events and activities.

4. 5:00 pm - Fireworks display at the Galvin Middle School. Bring your chairs and blankets. Children's activities begin at 5:00 pm, concert starts at 6:30 pm, fireworks begin at 9:00 pm. Sponsored by the: Canton Department of Recreation.

5. Today's forcast - A chance of showers and thunderstorms. Partly sunny, with a high near 90. Chance of precipitation is 30%. And in the evening a chance of showers and thunderstorms. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 69. Chance of precipitation is 50% according to the National Weather Service.
