Last Chance: Canton's Annual Town Election Tomorrow
Polls open at 7am and close at 8pm Tuesday, April 3, for Canton's annual town election.
Tomorrow, Tuesday, April 3, is your last chance to vote in Canton's local election.
There are is one race in the April 3 election to fill a four-year seat on the Housing Authority; voters have a choice between John McSweeney and Paul J. Alfano.
Perhaps the biggest controversy is the question for the Community Preservation Act. The CPA would be funded by an additional tax of one percent of the residential real estate tax and would begin in Fiscal Year 2013. This is the second time voters will face this question on the ballot. The Community Preservation Act was approved at the 2006 Town Meeting, yet defeated in the November election.
The other races are uncontested and include, the Board of Selectmen, town clerk, Board of Assessors, Board of Health, School Committee, Planning Board and Trustee of the Library.
The polls open at 7am and close at 8 pm. Canton registered voters in precinct one and six can vote at the Canton High School; precinct two, the Dean S. Luce School; precinct three at Blue Hills Regional; and precincts four and five at the John F. Kennedy Elementary School.
