Updated: Let it Melt, Let it Melt, Let it Melt
The messy Monday storm getting cleaned up in Canton.
The first storm of the season, which dropped about 2.5 inches of the white stuff on Canton, is melting away today. With bright sunshine, and the help of the plows and shovels, traffic is flowing smoothly on Route 138 and Washington Street today. The streets and sidewalks are clear, and the plow drivers did not have much business Tuesday afternoon.
A drastic change from Monday's icey conditions, which reaked havok on the rush-hour commute and caused quite a few accidents. Canton Police responded to seven car accidents on Monday afternoon and evening.
Despite the chaos, the snow did make for a pretty, holiday scene. It will be a white Christmas after all.
