A snowy morning on the Stoughton/Canton line.

It is snow going in Canton today. With whipping winds and heavy snow accumulation, the town is under a winter storm warning through midnight. Canton will see daytime accumulation totals of eight to 12 inches, accord to the National Weather Service. Today's a windy one, with blowing snow and wind gusts up to 38mph.

A reminder that Canton Public Schools are closed today, all sporting events have been cancelled and the Town Hall is also closed due to the storm. The Canton Senior Center is closed today and most scheduled events throughout the town have been postponed.

The Massachusetts Department of Transportation has 4,000 pieces of equipment out plowing, sanding and clearing the roads, and Canton's DPW is also out in full force. However, state and local officials are urging residents to stay off the roads to allow for proper clearing and to make way for emergency vehicles.

It is a good day to stay inside and off the roads. Enjoy the snow day!
