Eryn Rourke, 13 and Kyle DeRuisseau, 12, enjoyed their ice cream from Hilliards on a bench outside the shop. DeRuisseau who was having "Swamp" ice cream said, "It's great, it's like a mix of everything!"

Canton has some great local spots for ice cream and it is hard to imagine anything better on a hot summer day.
iScreamWorks at 598 Washington Street serves up Brigham's ice cream and has "great soft serve," according to patron Walter Humphrey of Canton.
Hilliards in The Village Shoppes has more than just chocolate and candy. The back of the store has an ice cream parlor dishing out many delectable flavors with Hilliards own chocolate candy and mix-ins. Nancy Allen says she always comes to Hilliards for her "favorite coffee frappe."
And there is always Crescent Ridge past Cobb's Corner in nearby Sharon which has dozens of flavors and generous portions of their own small batch ice cream.
Enjoy the last few weeks of summer, Canton. Yum!
