Prowse Farm Celebrates a Day of Music

A Summer Oldies Festival to benefit Prowse Farm Educational Center.

On Saturday, July 7, 2012, Prowse Farm hosted a summer oldies festival, produced by Harvey Robbins, to benefit the Historic Prowse Farm Educational Center.

Prowse Farm includes 44 acres of open space that rest at the foot of Great Blue Hill, after which Massachusetts derived its name. The Native Americans called the area, “Moswatusek” or land by the great hill.

The oldies festival musical line up included Tony Funches, former lead singer of  Herb Reed's The Platters for over ten years with hits, "Only You," "My Prayer" and "Twilight Time."

Dana Z's tribute to Elvis Presley, Suzie Hatton with her rendition of Pat Benatar and James Brown Jr. saluting the godfather of soul, Mr. James Brown.

Other musical artists along with an antique car display, plenty of free parking and a lively atmosphere meant for an exciting afternoon.
