Snow Makes for a Mean, Messy Commute in Canton and Milton Monday Night
Monday's flakes brought a pretty white mess to the area.
The red lights were not festive.
The winter's first flakes coated the area with a picturesque scene, but created havoc for commuters heading home Monday night. In Canton and Milton, Route 138 was a nightmare for travelers. It was bumper to bumper traffic all along 138, with overflow traffic backing up onto the side rows by Brookwood Farm, until the State Police Barracks on Hillside Street. Traffic on 95 fared no better.
A combination of snow and rush-hour traffic made for the major traffic jam. The area received about two inches of snow and the temperature felt like 13 degrees, although it reached 25 degrees, according to The Weather Channel.
Canton Fire Chief Charles Doody said there were no major snow-related incidents Monday. However, it was the traffic that caused more of a stir. Route 138 was "a parking lot," the chief said, adding that it took him an hour to get down Washington Street to Fuzion Gym.

My brother in law is on 128, crawling past the Blue Hills at 2 miles an hour. I'm so sorry for everybody out on the roads....this lil storm really took the commuters by surprise. Hopefully it will not be as gruesome as the one a few years back that took many hours to get off the highway and into Canton!
