Suspicious Vehicle Containing Propane Tanks Found in Canton

The vehicle was found on Turnpike Street Tuesday morning; a portion of Rte. 138 was closed off while crews responded.

A day after two explosions shook the Boston Marathon, local and state police crews responded to a report of a suspicious vehicle in Canton Tuesday morning that contained several propane tanks, Canton Police said.

A custodian at the Bay State School of Technology reported seeing a suspicious-looking vehicle in the parking lot of 225 Turnpike St. to Canton Police Tuesday morning. The vehicle reportedly contained propane tanks, with one being connected to the vehicle's engine with a hose, according to Canton Police Sgt. Robert Gooley.

It was not immediately clear if there was any connection between the vehicle and the incidents in Boston on Monday. The school was evacuated as a precaution, WHDH reported.
