The Canton Department of Recreation is featuring a new program, The Money Game, for ages 9-years-old and up, which teaches parents and their children real world lessons about money and finances in a fun, and celebratory way.
Michelle Gustafson, a retired Canton school teacher, has more than 30 years experience in the classroom.
The Money Game was developed over six years ago by Creative Wealth International and Elisabeth Donati of Santa Barbara, California.
The room is the board, the students are the pieces and the lessons last a lifetime, according to Donati.
Gustafson believes that playing a game encourages a beginner's mind. Your mind is open to information and experiences when you are playing a game because you're having fun.
Gustafson has created a Foxboro Cable Access series, "Win The Money Game Talk Show," has has already recorded two segments with five local families.
Presently, she is developing her game/talk show specifically for mothers and daughters.
The next session begins on July 24 - July 27, 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm at the Canton Department of Recreation, 92 Pleasant St.. Applications are being accepted for the next session which will run from August 7 - August 10.
