February's first snow storm is bringing cancellations galore. Tonight's Board of Selectmen meeting is cancelled, Temple Beth Abraham's Evening Minyan is cancelled, Temple Beth Abraham's religious education is cancelled, the library's Great Decisions Discussion is cancelled. The Canton Public Schools Kindergarten registration has been postponed until February 9, and the Canton Public Schools had an early release today. All after-school sports and activities are also cancelled for today.
This two-part storm is expected to bring up to 16 inches of snow to the Canton area, according to the National Weather Service.
The winter storm warning is in effect through Thursday at 1:00 a.m. Today, Canton will see four to eight inches of snow with wind gusts up to 20mph and temperatures in the mid-20s, according to the NWS.
Tonight, another one to three inches is expected along with freezing rain and sleet after midnight. On Wednesday, snow, sleet and freezing rain returns with another three to five inches of accumulation, according to the NWS.
