When it comes to Patch readers, we knew that pets would be an important part of your lives and we thank you for sharing your pet photos with us.

All the pictures are numbered in the caption area.

Please vote by giving the photo number in the comments below.

Voting will end at 9 a.m. Monday. So get in your vote.

One vote per person, please.

The winner will be announced before 12pm on Monday.

Braintree editor Joseph Markman's dog Seamus, Hingham editor Tony Catinella's canine nephew Parker, Falmouth Guest Editor Conor Powers-Smith's dog buddy and Plymouth editor Casey Meserve's cats Guus, Black Jack and Penelope are not official entries, but we wanted to get the ball rolling with cute pet photos, plus the dogs (and cats) are amazing.

This is part of Patch’s summer Picture of the Week series, where we’re asking you for your best pictures on a certain topic each week.

We’ve added a little incentive. The winning submission will get a $75 gift card, plus bragging rights.

We’ll be taking photo submissions each week from 9 a.m. Tuesday through noon Friday.

On Tuesday, July 31, be sure to check back at 9 am for our next contest, which will be Sunsets. Start snapping your photos if you don't have a sunset on hand.

For more information about the rules, please see the rules document attached to the article. If you have any questions, please email margaret.carroll-bergman@patch.com.

Such a difficult choice!! I have to give first place to #22 because it is summertime and Maisy just emanates the joy of simple summer pleasures. But #8 is a close second. If it were January I might have pick Trudie and Clara; who doesn't love to snuggle on a chilly afternoon. Honorable mention to all. Great photos! Thanks.
