Reduce traffic...reduce traffic...reduce traffic.

Reduce the traffic on Washington Street by fixing those poorly timed lights at Dedham & Pleasant Street. That, and make it safe for pedestrians to cross the sidewalks.

I moved to the Canton area almost a year ago and love the area. However there are some things that could be improved:

Keeping the Bolivar Pool open until 7pm during the summer so many can enjoy it after work. And post a sign with hours displayed.

Update the (severely) outdated and not user-friendly town website.

Clean and fix-up the parking lot of the Cabot Devoll field at Bolivar & Pleasant which looks like a dumping ground and staging site for construction projects.

Institute an MBTA “Quiet Zone” (i.e. communities along the Greenbush Line) where train horns (“whistles”) are not routinely sounded at grade crossings. Supplemental safety devices — medians or 4-quadrant gates — have been provided at most of the crossings to compensate for the absence of the train horns. While the horns will not be sounded routinely at crossings, they will still be used for other purposes such as to warn maintenance workers and in emergency situations. Bells on the trains and at the crossings will still be sounded.

I second the motion to update the town website & make more information available on it. On nearly every other town website you can pull up asessor's maps & assessment information but not on Canton's.
