Regular readers of my blog know by now that I am a big fan of the Canton Public Schools Performing Arts program.
This weekend, it is the Galvin Middle School's turn to take the stage with their performance of the classic musical, Guys and Dolls, under the direction of Galvin Middle School music teacher John Russell.
Set in New York City, this story gives a glimpse into the life of the hustling and bustling city, and all the characters that go along with it, from chorus girls to mission workers to gamblers and more. And of course, there are a couple of love stories to go around as well. All in all, it is a fun show for everyone to watch.
The middle school students at the Galvin Middle School have certainly grown since some of us saw them in their elementary school plays. And, they give us a glimpse into the performers they will become when they enter Canton High.
Our students have been putting in hours of practice, learning lines, songs, dances and more. The finishing touches have been put on and they are ready for the curtain to go up.
If you are looking for something to do this weekend, consider coming to see some of Canton's future stars in this popular musical performance. Performances are March 2 and 3 at 7:00 pm at the Canton High School Auditorium.
Break a leg to the cast & crew!
