Staging Your Home to Sell: An Actual Staging for You to Review

Trying to sell a home? In the last blog, we left off with you doing a walk around to see what might need to be tidied up, purged or saved for your project. Today we're going to talk about the next steps. Go exterior to interior, and then room by room and write down a punchlist of what needs to be done. Stand in the doorway of each room and get ready to depersonalize and declutter each space.

Be sure to view the attached photos of an actual project we are working on. The seller received her punchlist earlier this month. She will use the next few weeks to get her house ready. You can see by the photos that there is a lot to get done in some of the rooms.

She's going to be getting a container to purge items. The seller will be making a decision about what she wants to donate and will be moving certain furniture pieces from one room to another. The whole project will take her a few weeks. My staging team and I will then do a walk-through to see what we have left. We will then reaarange and get the house ready to be detailed/cleaned and photographed.

Take a look at the before photos now. What do you see? What would you do? Any suggestions?

I agree...can't wait to see the after photos. First thing I would do is clear all the clutter!
