Is the hustle and bustle of the holiday season getting to you? Here's an opportunity to slow down and enjoy the sounds of the season.
Canton High School's 2012 Winter Concert will be held on Tuesday, December 18th. It is looking to be another great performance by our high school students. The concert will be held at Canton High's Morse Auditorium and admission is FREE!
The concert starts at 7:00 pm and will feature performances by the Chorus, Chorale, Band and Orchestra. This is the first year that the high school will have an Orchestra. Canton's first string students who started about four or five years ago are now in high school.
Performances will include music by Orlando di Lassus, Gwyneth Walker, Smauel Barber, Leroy Anderson and Antonio Vivaldi.
Regular readers may note that missing from this year's performance are the Canton High Jazz Band and Canton High A Capella. With the growth of the performance groups, a second concert will be held in January featuring the smaller groups such as the Canton High Jazz Band, A Capella and the Galvin Middle School Jazz Band. Stay tuned for details!
Canton is lucky to have a great performing arts program, supported by the community and the music booster organization, MusicCounts, not to mention the dedicated and talented teachers throughout the department.
Come in out of the cold and sit and relax for an evening of music. And it won't cost you a penny!
