7th Annual CAPE Spelling Bee
Town of Canton High School, 900 Washington St, Canton, MA | Get Directions »
$5.00
The spelling bee is back and old rivalries will once again be renewed. Always a fun evening, CAPE’s annual spelling bee will be held at Canton High’s Morse auditorium starting at 7:00 PM. The first half of the evening will feature Canton’s very best student spellers. Undaunted by words like “faculty” and “vaccines”, Hansen’s Bengals won the third grade completion last year, while the Hansen Lions won the 4th grade competition with the word “neuter”. The Luce Golden Spellers emerged victorious for the 5th grade completion by correctly spelling “extraneous”. Seniority ruled in the middle and high school competitions where the 8th and 12th grade teams respectively took the trophies with words that would stump most adults.
The adult competition is no less fierce, and is bound to feature some great costumes. Last year’s Girl Scout Team came dressed as cookies! What will the Bulldog Nation Principal’s Team be wearing? Come cheer them on and find out! All proceeds from the spelling bee will benefit The Canton Alliance for Public Education (CAPE), which awards innovative grants to all of Canton’s public schools, so don’t forget to buy a raffle ticket and visit the snack bar!
