The Canton and Stoughton Historical Societies and the Friends of the Canton Public Library are joining together to present the best selling author Stephen Puleo. An author and historian, Mr. Puleo will speak on his latest book "The Caning: The Assualt That Drove America To Civil War". This event, the caning of Massachusetts Senator Charles Sumnerin 1856 was a turning point in American History. Mr. Puleo is also author of "Dark Tide: The Great Molasses Flood of 1919" along with several other historical novels. Following his talk Mr. Puleo will be available to sign copies of his books which will be available for purchase.

The Canton Public Library was established in 1874. Today, it offers more than just a quiet place to read. The library also hosts arts & crafts sessions and story time for children, coffee house nights for adults, as well as providing private study rooms for students.
