Those with limited or no medical training can take a First Aid Workshop and CPR/AED workshop to learn life-saving skills.
Each 3 hour workshop includes video and trainer-led instruction, hands-on practice, and a test. Receive a Heartsaver® First Aid or CPR/AED course completion card after successfully completing the course.
First Aid is Sat., Nov. 10, 9:00 AM-noon and CPR is Nov. 10, 1-4:00 PM. Cost is $30.00 each.
If a family member, child, or infant has a first aid or cardiac emergency, would you recognize the signs and be able to respond quickly and appropriately? According to the occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), approximately four million injuries and illnesses occur annually in the workplace, and nearly 80 percent of sudden cardiac arrests occur outside the hospital. The American Heart Association’s First Aid and CPR/AED (Automated External Defibrillator) interactive workshops, however, help increase survival rates by teaching you lifesaving skills.
Each workshop includes video and trainer-led instruction, hands-on practice, and a test. After successfully completing the course, you will receive a Heartsaver® First Aid or CPR AED course completion card (American Heart Association Certification) in the mail that is valid for two years.
Both workshops are geared to those with little or no medical training and are suitable for anyone who wants to learn First Aid, CPR, or AED, including those who need a course completion card to meet employment, regulatory, or other requirements. All mannequins, face shields, bandages, and other materials are provided, and a student manual is included. Because you will perform the exercises on the floor, be sure to dress comfortably.
The First Aid Workshop teaches the critical skills you need to respond to and manage a first aid or choking emergency in the first few minutes until emergency medical services (EMS) arrives. In this course, you’ll learn how to treat bleeding, sprains, broken bones, shock, and other first aid emergencies. Maximum participants: 30.
The Professional Development Collaborative, Inc. is a non-profit whose mission is to provide affordable training to in – transition professionals, growing their skills and accelerating their return to work.
