Optimism Walks for Parkinson’s Disease on Sunday, May 4

CANTON, MA The Massachusetts Chapter of the American Parkinson Disease Association (APDA) is in high gear as it readies for the 28th Annual Massachusetts Chapter Parkinson Walkathon. The Sunday, May 4th event will be held at the Reebok International Headquarters’ track in Canton, MA (1895 J.W. Foster Blvd.) with a start time of 12:00 noon (registration at 11:15am). The location offers a safe environment with plenty of parking and ample facilities for everyone. The walk total is 3 miles (1 lap = 1/4 mile); however, walkers can walk any part of this or choose to enjoy the beautiful day and the many other activities. (Reebok policy requests no pets at the event.) KISS 108 FM’s radio staff will be there to lead the festive atmosphere.

Come alone or bring a team to help support this important fundraiser. One hundred percent of the proceeds go towards vital Parkinson’s disease research approved by the APDA Scientific Advisory Board and patient programs. Last year over 1,500 people participated in the Walkathon and the event raised over $165,000. With everyone’s help, we can make this year’s Walkathon even greater. Whether you walk solo, walk with a team, or come to cheer the walkers on, you can make all the difference in the world to the Parkinson community. Come and be proud of yourself for doing something wonderful to help fight Parkinson’s disease!
