Family Movie Night at the Canton Public Library

Join the Canton Public Library from 6:30 p.m. until 8 p.m.. on Wednesday, August 14 for "Family Movie Night."

From the Canton Public Library: "Put on your PJs, grab a pillow, and bring the whole family to the library to watch Atlantis! This is a free event sponsored by the Friends of the Canton Public Library. No registration required. Free popcorn and water will be provided."

Dirt Dawg Sports Club Softball Tryouts


Dirt Dawg Sports, a baseball and softball training facility owned by three Stoughton residents, is holding club softball tryouts for the 2014 season at their Canton facility (40 Industrial Drive, Unit 3A in Canton, right off Route 138).

Registration fee is $10. Tryouts will be held:

August 17 & August 18:    
  • 16U-18U:  6 p.m. - 8 p.m.
August 24 & August 25:
  • 10U: 9 a.m. - 10:30 a.m.
  • 12U: 11 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.
  • 14U: 1 p.m. - 2:30 p.m.
Softball Pitchers & Catchers

August 14:
  • 10U - 14U: 6 p.m. - 7:30 p.m.
  • 16U - 18U: 7:30 p.m. - 9 p.m.

Dave Foley first started Foley’s Backstreet Grille eight years ago, and said it was the best thing he ever did.

Foley was born and raised in Canton, and bought his location about a mile over the Stoughton-Canton border on Pearl Street in Stoughton. He said it’s great because he lives right down the street.
