5 Things, Oct. 18: School Committee to Meet Tonight

1. On this day in 1867, the United States took possession of Alaska after purchasing the territory from Russia for $7.2 million dollars, or less than 2 cents an acre. 

2. There will be an English as a Second Language (ESL) class at the Canton Council on Aging today at 10 a.m.

3. At 10:30 a.m. there's an exercise class at the Blue Hills Wellness Center sponsored by the Canton Council on Aging.

4. From 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., there is an Old Colony Library Network Members meeting at the Canton Public Library

5. The Canton School Committee will meet tonight at in the Canton High School Distance Learning Lab.
