A Canton Moment with Loretta Robinson

Robinson has lived in Canton for nearly 60 years.

Loretta Robinson was busy knitting at the Canton Council On Aging recently with several other women who were gathered around a large table sharing stories and laughs.

Robinson has been married for 60 years to Henry Robinson and raised a son and a daughter. She has five  grandchildren.

Over the years she worked at Raytheon in Braintree, and at Canton Samples, a fabric and upholstery factory over on Dan Road that is no longer in business.

"I remember during the blizzard of 1978, we had no access roads to get out of town," said Robinson. "I think we should stop building. Do we need more condos and apartments?

'Canton used to be a quiet town but now it's becoming a city with too many cars. My daughter travels Washington Street to the highway to get to work and it takes her over an hour just to get out of Canton."

"I still love Canton, it's my home, but it would be nice if it were a little less crowded," said Robinson.
