Canton Patch Business Spotlight: Orange Leaf

New Cobbs Corner business owner Gerry Pellisier talks about Orange Leaf.

Orange Leaf, located in the Village Mall Shoppes in Canton, held its grand opening on Sept. 28 and the line was out the door. Who doesn't love a taste of free frozen yogurt, frequently referred to as "froyo"?

GP: We sell delicious self serve froyo in a family friendly environment in a variety of flavors with the toppings of your choice, while giving back to our community.

Canton Patch: How do you give back to the community?

GP: We offer Monday "Funday" Fundraisers for non-profit organizations. From 5-10 p.m. on select Mondays (excluding holidays) we'll host a local non-profit or local sports team and donate 10 percent of sales back to the organization. In addition, Orange Leaf is holding a state-wide fund raiser in all sores to celebrate our store, which is the 200th store nationwide. The fund raiser is in conjunction with Boston Children's Hospital.

Pellisier recalls visiting his grandparents in Canton who used to bring him to Cobbs Corner for treats as a young boy.

Canton Patch: Why did you choose Cobbs Corner for your store?

GP: I'm excited to open my first Orange Leaf store here and build new, sweet memories for my family and others.

Canton Patch: How many flavors do you offer?

GP: We have a repertoire of 60 flavors, of which 18 are available at any time. We rotate two new flavors into the lineup weekly, but we always offer chocolate with no sugar added and our lactose free orange.
