Hello Canton, I'm Your New Editor!

Tony Catinella, a Canton resident, takes over as Editor of Canton Patch.

Hello, Canton!

I am your new editor for Canton Patch. I am excited to be here and hope to build on the incredible momentum Canton Patch has going for it, as a strong community force.

Who am I? My name is Tony Catinella and I grew up in nearby Milton and have been living in Canton since February.

I have been working for Patch since 2011 and have launched two successful sites: the Hingham Patch (in March 2011) and the Weymouth Patch (in Sept. 2012).

Before joining Patch, I covered sports for the Canton Citizen Newspaper and general news assignments for The Patriot Ledger.

With the Canton Citizen, I covered the 2010 Division II South Sectional Champion high school men’s soccer team, the 2010 girls' basketball team and various town sports.  I was also responsible for starting a weekly column highlighting Canton citizen’s achievements on the athletic field.

With the Ledger, I covered various Canton news stories including a coyote attack at Ponkapoag, the tragic death of 21-year-old Brendan Burke and a touching story about a Canton woman who saved a Chernobyl victim's life.

When I'm not reporting, I love watching sports and going for a relaxing run. I ran last years' Boston Marathon and September's Canton Road Race and hope to do both again this year.

I am also very excited about learning more about Canton by covering every aspect of news for your town.

I am honored to be your new editor, and I'm here for you!

Please contact me anytime or stop and say hello as I will be working many afternoons out of the Starbucks at the Village Shoppes at Cobbs Corner or at the library.

Have a story tip for me? Want to say hi? Call or email me.
