On Friday, Aug. 10, the Massachusetts Hospital School's celebrated it's 29th Annual Summer Day Program.
The Annual Family Day allows guests to meet with counselors, nurses and specialists and see what the children have experienced during their last seven weeks of camp, including events such as horseback riding and arts and crafts.
"This school helped me how to become independent," John Mariani, a graduate of the Mass Hospital School said. "Now I have my own apartment and live on my own. I've continued my studies, after doing well on my MCAS tests, at the Massasoit Community College just up the road."
The summer day program encourages the students to understand that they are just like every other child. Having a disability doesn't make a difference.
