The Openbook Coffeehouse at the Canton Public Library kicks off today, Oct. 20. This week's featured musical guest is the Magnolia Cajun Band, which won Folk Act of the Year in the Americana category. The group is New England's hometown cajun band since 1989, having learned music from Louisiana's finest. Doors open at 6:45 p.m. Tickets are $12 or $6 for students.
At 5 p.m. on Saturday, St. Johns Church will host it's Oktoberfest with food and lots of dancing. It's a family festival for all ages with a 12 piece band, the "Oberlaendler Hofbrau Band." You'll enjoy a buffet dinner, black forest cake, German beer and Riesling wine. This event is sold out. For those lucky enough to have tickets, enjoy your evening.
The Blue Hills Walking Club meets at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, Oct 20, for a moderate to difficult 2.5 mile hike. You'll start at Summit Road to the top of Great Blue. Coming back you'l take the red dot and green dot trails. Meet at the Trailside Museum north parking lot at 1904 Canton Ave.
On Sunday, Oct 21, it's Cantonstock from 12-4 p.m. at Canton High School. This is more than just a fundrasier, Cantonstock is a celebration of music in the Canton Public Schools. There will be featured performances from grades 4-12 from all the Canton Public Schools as well as games, food, raffles and a silent auction.
