Martini Monday With Ceramics a la Carte'

Paint a martini glass and then paint the town.

Martini Monday will be taking place at the located in the Village Shoppes in Cobbs Corner on May 21.

Cathy Walsh, owner of , a paint your own pottery and custom design studio located in the Village Shoppes, aproached the Halfway Cafe about combining the art of ceramics with an elegant cocktail.

"The is a place that offers something for everyone," Walsh said. "Martini Monday is strictly our adults night and we have spin offs like Merlot Monday and Margarita Monday depending on what glasses we paint that night."

Walsh went to the Halfway Cafe and asked if they would be interested in starting an event, on a slow night, such as a Monday.

Ladies register at Ceramics a la Carte about a week ahead of time and then meet over at the Halfway Cafe where tables are set up with each ladies glass with their name on it, paints, brushes and cups of water to wash their brushes.

The Halfway Cafe provides complimentary appetizers to the women while they are painting.

"The trick that makes this whole thing work is that we have a special goof proof technique so the glasses turn out perfect. You don't have to be an artist," said Walsh.

The martini glasses are ready for pick up one week from the day of the event.
