Bites Nearby: Golden China

Chinese food in Canton–a great kid-friendly choice for eating out.

You could stand on a corner and look around until a restaurant sign draws you in. But we have a better idea. Each week, Canton Patch picks a great restaurant either in town or nearby that is worth checking out.

Did the kids ace their report card?  Are you looking for somewhere fun and kid-friendly to take the tots? You are in luck, because we have found a quick and icon for you to check out.

The Golden China There is no doubt about it: Chinese food is one of the go-to cuisines when going out to lunch or dinner with kids. Chinese food is pretty well standardized, and most kids are quite content with their comfort foods of chicken-fingers, fried rice and sweet-and-sour soup. , located conveniently in Canton Center in the Walgreens Plaza, offers great food at reasonable prices. It is a dim, exotic place, sure to dazzle kids with its opulent décor.

One of the most eyecatching is the wall-sized aquarium that graces the entrance of the restauraunt. Kids can see eye to eye with the Koi fish so profuse in Chinese lore. The service is friendly and the food is served hot and fresh. Waiting times are short, which is a great attribute when dining with kids with notoriously short attention spans! The Moo Goo Gai Pan and the Crab Rangoon all receive rave reviews from loyal patrons. Families can find something for everyone by choosing a family-style dinner combo, which ncludes Chicken Teriyaki, Crab Rangoon, Boneless Spareribs, Triple Delight, Beef Lo Mein and Pork Fried Rice for one low price. Another way to go would be to divulge the fact that Golden China has a pizza menu. This way, the pickiest kids can have a slice of pie while you can enjoy more exotic, spicy oriental cuisine.
