Canton Company to Benefit from New iPhone Release

Canton-based Wrapsol makes screen protectors for smartphones, and the new iPhone 5 is set to be released today.

With the imminent release of Apple's iPhone 5 set for today, Sept. 12, a Canton-based manufacturer is poised to reap a number of benefits.

Wrapsol, which makes polyurethane protective films for mobile devices, is based in Canton and, each time an iPhone is released, the company's employees more than doubles, according to a report by the Boston Herald Wednesday morning.

Companies that manufacture iPhone accessories may also be under the pressure of creating the perfect product right off the bat, as the average user of a smartphone spends about $56 on accessories, according to the Herald, which cited a report by ABI research, a firm that claims the smartphone accessories market will nearly double by 2017 to $38 billion.
