Canton Resident's Creations Have Handmade Touch

Cristina Hurley creates and sells handcrafted jewelry out of her Rockland Street store.

The quaint shop nestled on the corner of Rockland Street in Canton is home to an array of necklaces, earrings, rings and bracelets–all handmade by owner and designer Cristina Hurley.

The Canton resident and mother of one operates at 3 Rockland Street, right around the corner from busy Washington Street. The designer, a graduate of Rhode Island School of Design, has operated her shop since October 2010.

She makes and sells custom creations in all designs, colors and styles.

"I design and make it all right here," Hurley said.

Hurley has been creating jewelry since 1995 and is currently using a lot of silver and synthetic stones in her designs. She also uses recycled metals to "try to keep my carbon footprint down."

She also designs custom pieces for clients. "I want to be able to offer something different to the community," Hurley said.

Hurley is holding a Summer Solstice Open House on June 18 from 11:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m. which will feature free tarot card readings, coupons and promotions.
