Homewood Suites, Canton's First Hotel, Announces Management

Buffalo Lodging Associates, LLC, a hotel development and third party management company, is proud to announce William (Bill) Hines as general manager and Macaire Matchett as director of sales for the hotel currently under development in Canton. The new hotel is located 16 miles south of Boston at 50 Royall Street in Canton. This will be the first hotel to open in the Town of Canton.

Hines first joined Buffalo Lodging in 2006 as a regional vice president, a position he held until 2009 when he left to pursue other opportunities. In 2011, he re-joined the company to oversee general manager positions at hotels where there had been a recent vacancy. Most recently, he served as interim general manager for the Homewood Suites Holyoke/Springfield-North hotel.

His previous experience includes eight years with Marriott International as the vice president of development asset management for International Lodging, and the vice president of finance for the Northeast Region. From 1983 to 1998, Hines held similar positions with the ITT Sheraton Corporation in Boston.

“We are very happy to have Bill as general manager of the new Homewood Suites Boston/Canton. He has an extensive hospitality background and great knowledge about the Boston market. His leadership skills are exactly what we need to open the hotel successfully,” stated Kimberly Tobias, regional vice president of operations.

Matchett joins the new Homewood Suites Boston/Canton from the Hyatt Place Boston/Medford where she was the sales manager for the past four years. In this role, Matchett consistently reached her goals and regularly exceeded budgeted revenue targets. Prior to her time at the Hyatt Place, she was a corporate management trainee at the Hyatt Regency in Cambridge.  In 2004, she co-founded and coordinated a walkathon in Durham, NH, to benefit the Northeast Passage. Her previous experience also includes wedding and event planning and political campaign work.

Matchett is a graduate of the University of New Hampshire, where she earned a bachelor’s of science in Health and Human Services with a minor in Business and Hospitality Management. She currently resides in Medford.

The four-story, 98-suite Homewood Suites Boston/Canton hotel will feature all-suite, extended-stay accommodations including a bedroom, office, and living room area, plus a fully equipped kitchen with full-size appliances standard in every suite. Guests will enjoy a daily complimentary full hot breakfast in the hotel’s Lodge, and a 24-hour on-site Suite Shop® will be available for necessities, snacks and beverages.  Monday through Thursday evenings a complimentary dinner with drinks* will be provided in the Lodge.

The hotel will also feature a 24-hour business center, state-of-the-art fitness facilities, and an indoor heated pool and whirlpool spa. Complimentary wired and wireless Internet access will be available in all guest suites, and Wi-Fi will be available in the Lodge and the hotel’s conference room.
