Canton Orange Leaf Participates in "Go Orange for No Kid Hungry" to Help End Childhood Hunger in America

Orange Leaf Frozen Yogurt, one of the nation’s leading frozen dessert chains, announced it is partnering with Share Our Strength to raise funds for the nationwide No Kid Hungry campaign throughout September. To help raise awareness of the issue of childhood hunger in America, each Orange Leaf location will sell limited edition “Go Orange” commemorative cups. Seventy-five cents from the sale of the $1 cups will be donated to Share Our Strength’s No Kid Hungry campaign. Additionally, customers who purchase the cups will receive a coupon for three free ounces of froyo to be used on a return visit.

Massachusetts Orange Leaf locations will be participating in Share Our Strength’s No Kid Hungry campaign, with local beneficiaries of the program including Project Bread – The Walk for Hunger, Worcester County Food Bank, East Boston YMCA and The Greater Boston Food Bank. The “Go Orange” for hunger awareness concept originated from Marblehead franchisee Michael Hennessey and evolved into the national partnership with Share Our Strength.

“Orange is the color for hunger awareness and September is No Kid Hungry month, so it is only natural that Orange Leaf Frozen Yogurt will ‘Go Orange for No Kid Hungry’ to support this cause during the month,” said Reese Travis, CEO of Orange Leaf. “We have a deep sense of community commitment in each of our 300 stores, and are confident we will not only reach our goal of raising $50,000 but also engage the communities we serve in helping to end childhood hunger in America.”

In addition to purchasing a Go Orange for No Kid Hungry cup, patrons can also make credit card donations at all Orange Leaf locations. “Our goal is to contribute at least $50,000 to this very worthy cause but we hope the generosity of our patrons helps us bump that amount even higher,” added Travis.

“No child should grow up hungry in America, but one in five children struggles with hunger,” said Billy Shore, Founder and CEO of Share Our Strength®. “With the help of partners like Orange Leaf, the No Kid Hungry campaign is working to ensure all children get the healthy food they need, every day.”
