HELP US CHANGE A 10 YEAR OLD GIRLS LIFE

A Family Needs our Support, Help us Change a 10-Year Old Girl’s Life

Lauren Ford is a 10 year old, 4th grader, at Luce Elementary School in Canton.  At birth she suffered a rupture type brachial plexus nerve injury resulting in the partial paralysis of her right arm.  This life-time injury affects the physical appearance of her arm while compromising Lauren’s muscle function, the ability to grasp, extend, and reach.  Over the past 10 years. Lauren has bravely undergone a number of surgeries in an attempt to lessen the effects of her impairment.  Her simple wish is to someday be able to brush her own hair.

Breakthrough medical technology is now available to further improve this nerve related condition which has more occurrences than Down's Syndrome.  Her parents, Valerie and Claudiu, have put Lauren's medical health above all else. Continuing therapy and previous medical procedures have already put an enormous financial strain on them.  Two recent surgeries (Dec. 2012 & June 2013) have made a tremendous difference in Lauren’s life but have put this family more than $25,000 in debt.

When “The Hillside Pub” owners, Walter McCaan and Mike Gargan heard their story, their immediate response was to make Lauren and her family the beneficiaries of their 7th Annual Hillside Open Golf Fundraiser.  As many of you know, The Hillside Pub is a great neighbor to Canton and its residents and each year the tournament picks a worthwhile cause to donate the proceeds of the day to. Over the past six years they and the Hillside Pub community have raised a significant amount of money and awareness to these various causes.  This year’s fundraiser is being held on Monday July 22nd at the Wampatuck Golf Club in Canton, MA and is already SOLD OUT!
