News From the Fire Front

Canton Fire Department news and information from Canton Fire Chief Charles Doody.

The will have two long time members retiring as of May 31, 2011 - Lt. Paul “Barry” Ronayne and Firefighter James Podgurski.

Both men have served the Town of Canton for over 32 years and have been exemplary firefighters and EMT’s.  The department will be hiring two paramedic/firefighters from the Civil Service list to take their place. Plans for Barry and Jimmy’s retirement parties are in process, so stay tuned for details.

Also, on May 14, the Canton Fire and Police Departments will be holding a at Blue Hills Country Club with proceeds to benefit the .

Tickets are on sale at both the fire and police stations and are $50 per person. There will be cocktails, dinner, DJ Gary Titus and dancing beginning at 6:30 pm.
