The event was originally the idea of a couple of teachers who came to the CAPT to promote it as a fun event and not necessarily a fundraiser. It has turned into a good fundraiser and a fun annual event in the Town of Canton. The event kicks off at 10:00 am with the half-mile childrens run for ages 4-8, followed by a mile childrens run for ages 9-12. The big event, the 5K run for all ages, starts at 11:00 am. There are trophies for the first, second and third place winners in all age categories.
While the races are going on, there is face painting, tattoos and bouncy houses to entertain the kids. There is also a free cookout of hamburgers and hot dogs during and after the big race. For the serious runners, there are professional timing with splits and a computerized finish line. The event draws runners from all around Canton and the surrounding areas.

The cost of the childrens fun run is $12.50 and the cost of running the 5K is $22.50. You may register online here: https://www.racemenu.com/events/12088-Luce-5K-Fun-Run
The Fun Run is an annual feel-good community event that promotes health, fitness and good fun all while raising money for a good cause. While my kids are no longer at the , we will be at the Fun Run on Sunday. My husband will be running the 5K and I will be there to cheer him on. I hope to see some of you there - either on the course or on the sidelines cheering!
