Canton Food Pantry Seeks Donations of School Supplies

The provides food and household staples for those in our town who are having difficulty making ends meet. The is really a life-saving organization for many people in Canton.

Now that we are heading into the season, they have put a call out for backpacks filled with to give out to the children whose families are clients of the food pantry. I am sure the citizens of Canton will hold true to form and come out and support this effort.

They are seeking donations of backpacks and various school supplies: notebooks, pens, pencils, crayons, markers, glue sticks and other items that may be on your child's school supply list. The Food Pantry staff realize that it is short notice. If it is too much to ask, you can donate either a backpack or some school supplies or even a gift card to WalMart, or Target. That way, the family who receives the donation will be able to use the gift card to purchase the necessary items.

in Canton has offered their office as the drop off location. Drop off the backpacks and school supplies to their office at 1475 Washington Street on or before Sunday, August 28th. Volunteers will pick up the donations and distribute through the .

And while you are there, they can always use food donations so feel free to drop off a non-perishable food item while you are making the school supply donation!
