Canton Market Report for Third Quarter 2012

A look at the real estate market in Canton for the third quarter of 2012.

It's almost Halloween and we are just about at the end of the first month of the final quarter of 2012. Let's take a look back to see how the real estate market fared in Canton for the third quarter of 2012.

For the period of July 1, 2012 - September 30, 2012, there were 59 single family homes sold in Canton, with an average sales price of $469,000.00*.  The lowest priced home sold for $224,500.00 and the highest sold for $1.2 million. The price range with the highest number of homes sold was in the $300,000 - $400,000 price range as shown on the attached chart. (Price ranges in the chart attached are listed by thousands.)

Sales of single family homes in Canton are up for the same period of 2011 where there were 47 single family homes sold with an average sales price of $478,000.00. In fact, that is the highest number of sales during the third quarter in Canton for the past five years.  The attached chart shows how sales have increased year over year.

Overall, 2012 has been a busy year in the Canton Real Estate Market.  Well priced homes that are in good condition move quickly as there is dwindling inventory. Homes continue to go on the market in late Fall and Winter so if you are looking to buy a home in Canton, keep your eyes on the market.
