Canton Real Estate Market Report for November 2012

A summary of the real estate market in Canton for November 2012.

Everyone wants to know how the real estate market is doing.  Well, here's a look at the real estate market in Canton for November 2012.

From November 1, 2012 - November 30, 2012, there were twelve single family homes sold in Canton.  The lowest priced home sold for $203,000.00 and the highest priced home sold for $910,000.00*.

The average sales price was $395,000.00.  While it is not a large number of homes sold for one month, it is an increase from November 2011, when there were only eight single family homes sold in Canton.  Attached is a chart showing the number of home sales in Canton in the month of November for the past five years.  Keep in mind that 2009 and 2010 were impacted somewhat by the first time homebuyer tax credit.

The holidays are generally a slower time for real estate sales so the numbers for November are not surprising.  December is almost at an end so we can then see how 2012 ended up for real estate sales in Canton.

As for current inventory, currently there are only 49 single family homes for sale in Canton. There are still buyers out there looking hoping that new listings will come on the market after the new year.  Inventory is down so if you are thinking of putting your home on the market for 2013, the time to start planning is now.

Happy New Year and stay tuned for a wrap up of the 2012 Canton real estate market.
