Canton Real Estate Market Report for October 2012

It is nearly the end of November but here are the numbers for the real estate market in Canton for the month of October, 2012.

In October 2012, there were seventeen single family homes sold in Canton.  The lowest priced home sold for $200,000.00 and the highest priced home sold for $750,000.00*.  The average sales price was $408,647.00.   

That is an increase from October 2011, when there were only 4 single family homes sold in Canton.  Attached is a chart showing the number of home sales in Canton in October for the past five years.  You can see that 2012 had the highest number of home sales in October over the past five years.  

The Fall and Winter tend to be the slowest times in real estate.  However, the real estate market in Canton was going strong in October.  Year to date (January 1 - October 31), there were 148 single family homes sold.  In 2011 for the same period, there were 111.

We still have November and December sales to add in to find out how the real estate market in Canton fared in 2012.  Based on the numbers so far, it looks like it is moving in the right direction.

There are still buyers out there looking.  If you have your home priced well, it is in good condition and well-located, it is likely to sell quickly.  For Buyers, the interest rates remain at historic lows and the home prices are still attractive.  Get your finances in order and get a mortgage preapproval agent so you can take advantage of the rates and prices.
