Dance–It's Not Just for Kids Anymore!

A review of a new adult dance class in Canton.

As a and mother of three teenage girls, life certainly is busy! I am sure you all can relate. We are all so busy with work, family and volunteer obligations.

I think it is important to take time out for ourselves to do whatever it is that makes us happy. I find myself involved in many volunteer activities that I do enjoy (I am a firm believer in only volunteering for those things that you enjoy.) However, they are not activities that are just for me. Even going to the gym is usually something that I feel I HAVE to do!

So, this year when the started offering some adult dance classes, I decided to sign up! My girls have danced at Hazel Boone Studios for over 10 years now.  I danced myself when I was a kid - many decades ago!  In the past few years, I had fun participating with my girls in the annual Parent-Child Dance in the .  Now it was time just for me!

This past Tuesday I took my first Tap class in over thirty plus years and it was so much fun!  Luckily, there were other "Moms" like me in the class, plus some adult women who were younger than us and even one Dad! We may have been a little rusty but we all seemed to pick it back up.  is also offering adult classes in Jazz and Ballroom Dancing - with a two for one special on the ballroom dancing!

For those of you thinking of picking up something like this–whether it be dance or an art class or whatever–just do it. Sign up, set aside the time and put it on your schedule.  I'm sure  you will not regret it!
