Dancing with the Stars in Canton
This article is a preview of the upcoming Hazel Boone Studios dance recital and dance camp.
And the stars are some talented kids between the ages of 3 and 18.
Canton is home to one of the oldest family-owned dance studio in the country - the
. The Hazel Boone Studios celebrated 100 years of dance education last year and they are now finishing up their 101st year. The studio was started by Miss Hazel Boone in 1910. Upon her death, her daughter, Sandra Philpott, took over the studio. Upon her retirement in 1996, Miss Boone's granddaughter, took over the role as director.
The studio's annual dance recital will be held on Saturday June 18 at at 2:00 pm. This year's theme, Dancing in Playland, will feature ballet, jazz, tap, and hip hop routines from preschoolers to high school seniors–plus the ever-popular parent-child number where you just might find one of your favorite Canton real estate bloggers!

School is almost out....do you know what your kids are going to be doing? If not, you will be happy to know that the dancing continues into the summer when the will offer a summer Dance Camp for children ages 7 - 12. The camp will run August 8 - 12 from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. In addition to dance classes, the camp will feature theater games, creative movement, strength & flexibility programs, arts and crafts and more. No previous dance experience is necessary and dancers of all ages are welcome. Camp will be held in the studio's brand-new facility at One Boston Drive in Canton.
If you enjoy watching some great dancing, consider attending the recital. If your child is considering dance, have her or him try it out at dance camp.
