October Requests from the Canton Food Pantry

A list of requested donations for the Canton Food Pantry for the month of October.

The provides an invaluable service to many members of our community who are struggling. They rely on the from the Canton community. Luckily, the citizens of Canton always come through whenever they are asked for help.

The sends out a monthly email to its subscribers, letting them know what items they are most in need of for the current month. Each month they stress that all donations of any kind are always welcome. If you would like to get on the list you can email the food pantry at cantonfoodpantry@gmail.com and ask to be put on the list. I find it very useful. The week that I receive the email, I put a few of the items on my shopping list for the week so that I remember. Then, after I sort my groceries, I can deliver the needed items to the Food Pantry. You can also subscribe to the Canton Food Pantry Blog for updates.

This month's email explained that clients are allowed to shop at the Food Pantry every two weeks. Most of the time, what they can get at the Food Pantry is only a supplement to their food budget. In some situations, the Food Pantry will try to provide clients with a grocery store gift card. They have reminded us that they accept donations of gift cards to local grocery stores. Gift cards may be in any
denomination.
