So, You Want to Buy A House in Canton?

The Spring is in full swing. In spite of the drop in the real estate market over the past several years and despite what you hear on the news, the is very busy. I have run into properties going under agreement within days of being listed and many multiple offer situations. Agents who have Open Houses are reporting a lot of foot traffic.
Maybe it's the fact that we had a LONG cold winter. Once the finally melted, people could not wait to get out of their houses. Maybe it's the fact that the economy, or at least the Massachusetts economy, is starting to show signs of recovery. Perhaps buyers who have been on the sidelines have decided that the low interest rates coupled with low home prices are not going to stay around forever. Or, maybe it's the fact that in many places it is cheaper month to month to buy rather than rent. It could be a combination of all of the above. The bottom line is that the 2011 spring real estate market is busy.
There are a wide variety of in Canton, Mass. They range in size, condition and price. As of May 3, there are 89 single family homes listed as Active on the MLS. They range in price from $165,000.00 to $1,500,000.00. And, there are 44 condominiums currently listed for sale ranging in price from $99,900.00 to $399,900.00.

So, if you want to buy a house in Canton, there is probably something to fit your budget. Your first step should be to get a pre-approval letter from your lender so you know how much you can afford. Your second step should be to contact a buyer’s agent who will assist you every step of the way.
